Baitarni West – Angul District

With 1,097 million tonnes of geological resources, Baitarni West is GMDC’s largest coal asset. Its high-calorific value and proximity to industrial corridors make it a dependable fuel source for power generation and energy-intensive sectors. The site’s connectivity to established rail infrastructure ensures efficient, large-scale distribution. Nearing operationalisation, Baitarni West is poised to become one of India’s Tier-3 coal mines, further strengthening the nation’s energy security.

Burapahar – Sundargarh District

Contributing 548 million tonnes of geological resources, the Burapahar mine complements GMDC’s coal portfolio with quality thermal coal and strong logistical viability. A dedicated rail spur is planned, enabling faster evacuation and direct supply to key consumption zones.
